Listed in: Sports > Martial Arts The original Female Fighters webring. This is for sites of women who are involved in the martial arts, or about famous women who are, including people like Cynthia Rothrock. They can be versed in one or several arts. Commonly practiced martial arts that women like to pursue are karate, judo, taekwondo, aikido, Thai Kickboxing, the various Chinese animal forms, tai chi, wing chun, and kung fu. women are somewhat differently abled, with stronger legs and weaker upper bodies. We are less likely to be very demonstrative fighters (we kiai less often and loudly), and we may not be able to break as many boards. But as we rise in rank, we are able to learn very powerful skills. We encourage all women to train to the black belt level in a martial art, whether able bodied or young, or not. The more of us who have these skills, the less likely we will be the victims of violence. It is said that 72% of untrained women who fight back escape an assault unharmed. People who assault are basically cowards. If we train, we also demonstrate by our demeanor that they should leave us alone. When predators don't know who is trained, everyone is protected to some extent. Come and learn how we do it by surfing this ring.
